This Privacy Policy explains how Chartline handles information when you visit chartlinehits.com. Chartline is an independent music-chart research platform.

Information you provide

Chartline does not currently require user accounts, purchases or payment information. Search terms that you enter are used to return relevant songs and artists. Search terms may appear in the page URL and may therefore be retained in your browser history or routine server logs.

If Chartline later activates features that collect contact information, such as a working newsletter signup or contact form, this policy will be updated before that collection begins.

Technical and usage information

When you visit Chartline, hosting and infrastructure providers may process ordinary technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This may include an IP address, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring page, timestamps, performance information and diagnostic logs.

Analytics

Chartline uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic and improve site performance. Vercel describes Web Analytics as privacy-focused and designed without cookie-based visitor tracking. Vercel may still process technical request and usage information as part of hosting and providing its services.

Spotify embeds

Some Chartline pages include embedded Spotify players. Loading or interacting with a Spotify player connects your browser directly to Spotify. Spotify may receive technical information and may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own policies. Chartline does not control Spotify's data practices.

Database infrastructure

Chartline uses Supabase to provide database infrastructure for chart, song and artist information. Requests needed to retrieve site content may be processed through Supabase infrastructure.

Cookies and browser controls

Chartline does not intentionally use first-party advertising cookies. Third-party content, including Spotify embeds, may use cookies or similar browser storage. You can limit or delete cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect embedded-player functionality.

How information is used

Technical and aggregate usage information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve Chartline; measure general traffic patterns; prevent misuse; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Sharing and disclosure

Chartline does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that support website hosting, analytics, databases and embedded media. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or security, or investigate misuse.

Data retention and security

Technical records are retained only as reasonably necessary for website operations, security, troubleshooting and legal obligations, subject to the practices of Chartline's service providers. No method of online transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children's privacy

Chartline is a general-audience music-history website and is not directed to children under 13. Chartline does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You may use browser settings or privacy tools to limit cookies and third-party content. You may also choose not to interact with embedded Spotify players.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Chartline adds or changes features and service providers. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
