Taylor Swift reshapes the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending October 10, 2026. “Patient Zero” debuts at No. 1, joined by three more first-week entries at Nos. 3, 4 and 5. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” is the only song interrupting that quartet, moving to No. 2 in its 50th chart week.

The changes extend well beyond the summit. Olivia Rodrigo returns to the Top 10 and posts the week’s largest climb, Corey Kent advances 23 places, and Sienna Spiro pairs a Top 40 breakthrough with a new entry at No. 100.

Swift takes four of the Top 5 positions

“Patient Zero” arrives at No. 1 ahead of Swift’s “Cleveland!” at No. 3, “Babylon” at No. 4 and “Pink Clouding” at No. 5. All four have one chart week in Chartline’s database, making them debuts rather than returning entries.

Swift also places “I Knew It, I Knew You” at No. 21, down from No. 12. That gives her five songs on this week’s Hot 100, with four concentrated in the Top 5. The contrast is striking: her new arrivals dominate the upper reaches while the older song continues its run in its 17th chart week.

“Choosin’ Texas” reaches 50 chart weeks

Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” moves from No. 1 to No. 2 as its total reaches 50 weeks on the Hot 100. Its chart longevity remains a major story even as Swift takes the top spot.

Several other established leaders move down. Stella Lefty’s “Boston” falls from No. 2 to No. 6, Morgan Wallen’s “Been By Now” from No. 3 to No. 7, and Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” from No. 4 to No. 8.

Rodrigo’s “Stupid Song” moves against that downward pattern, rising from No. 13 to No. 9 in its 16th chart week. Tame Impala & JENNIE’s “Dracula” completes the Top 10 at No. 10, down from No. 5, with 53 chart weeks. Karol G With Judeline & rusowsky’s “BbY WOW” moves from No. 6 to No. 11, while Wallen’s “Last Thing You Need” follows its No. 9 debut with a second-week position of No. 13.

Rodrigo leads the week’s biggest climbs

“Expectations” rises from No. 98 to No. 74, a 24-place gain—the largest among songs appearing on both this week’s and last week’s charts. Rodrigo also advances with “Honeybee,” up 17 places from No. 85 to No. 68, and “Maggots For Brains,” up 16 from No. 81 to No. 65.

Those gains do not establish new peaks: the three songs previously reached Nos. 20, 9 and 12, respectively. They do, however, make Rodrigo a prominent part of the week’s movement below the Top 40, alongside her return to the Top 10 with “Stupid Song.”

Corey Kent’s “Empty Words” makes the next-largest climb, jumping from No. 66 to No. 43. The 23-place rise sets a new peak in its 16th chart week. Kenny Chesney’s “Carry On” also reaches a new high, moving seven places from No. 51 to No. 44 in week 15.

Sienna Spiro breaks into the Top 40

“Great Expectation” climbs from No. 58 to No. 39, a 19-position gain and a new peak in its 13th chart week. It is the biggest climb among songs in this week’s Top 40.

Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life” also enters the region from below, rising from No. 42 to No. 38. Along with Swift’s four debuts, those two climbers account for the six songs in this week’s Top 40 that were absent from last week’s Top 40.

Elsewhere in the region, Luke Combs’ “Rethink Some Things” advances from No. 37 to a new No. 33 peak. Teddy Swims’ “Mr. Know It All” moves from No. 33 to a new high of No. 32. Both make progress during established runs: Combs’ song reaches week 27, and Swims’ reaches week 24.

Six debuts across the full Hot 100

Swift supplies four of the week’s six debuts. The other two arrive in the lower half: “Pink Blush,” credited to Dolly Babe Featuring Megan Thee Stallion, opens at No. 58, and Spiro’s “Pure” enters at No. 100.

Spiro therefore has two distinct developments to follow: “Great Expectation” reaches the Top 40 while “Pure” begins its chart history. Among other developing entries, Steve Lacy’s “Nothing” rises from No. 94 to No. 77 in its second week. Jamie Miller’s “Babydoll” and boa’s “Duvet” each gain 11 places in their second weeks, reaching Nos. 81 and 82.

Ashe’s “Stop The Wedding!” adds another notable climb, moving from No. 77 to a new No. 64 peak in week four.

What to watch next week

Swift’s four Top 5 debuts will receive their first week-to-week comparison on the next chart. “Choosin’ Texas” remains close behind the new No. 1, while “Great Expectation” and “Empty Words” enter the next week at new peak positions.

Farther down, the question is whether Rodrigo’s substantial gains can continue and whether “Pink Blush” and “Pure” build on their opening positions.
